There is a lot of work constantly going on for the Parish Councillors as the Parish covers both West Winch and Setchey wards.
West Winch Parish Council has Committee's and Working Groups of Councillors to carry out some of the work behind the scenes and during the times the Parish Council does not meet.
The Finance Committee assist the Parish Council to oversee the proper financial management, financial risk, policy and management strategy.
This working group considers planning applications, as a statutory consultee, in the Parish and discusses concerns with
transport, highways and other potential impact factors.
This working group will be responsible for looking after the assets of the Council – playing fields, children’s’ play area, skate park, Coronation Meadow, litter bins, dog bins etc.
This working group looks after the maintenance of the street lights in the parish. A lot of work has been done to identify and map them, providing faster response times to issues reported.
This working group look after the needs of the Village Hall. From Maintenance to Fundraising. working along side the Village Hall Committee.
This working group is helping to protect biodiversity in West Winch in alignment with national biodiversity policy and its implementation. At present this remains DEFRA’s Biodiversity 2020 strategy.
